World War II (1939-1945)

Horace Donald Bradt was born in Schenectady, New York, on October 8, 1910. He was listed as a resident of the town of Duanesburg in Schenectady County on the 1920 census; the city of Schenectady in 1925; the town of Niskayuna in Schenectady County in 1930; and the village of Round Lake in Saratoga County, New York, in 1940. Before entering the military, he worked for Baker's Farm in the village of Round Lake.

In February 1941, Horace enlisted in the United States Army. He was a staff sergeant serving with Company D, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. On January 15, 1945, during the Battle of the Bulge, Horace was killed in combat. He is buried in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie, New York.
