World War II (1939-1945)

Henry Anthony Chociej was born in Schenectady, New York, on June 5, 1922. When he was younger, he was a member of the Schenectady City Band and the Polish American Boys Rhythm Band, where he played accordion. After graduating from Mont Pleasant High School, he started working for General Electric.

In August 1942, Henry enlisted in the United States Navy. He completed his training at the Great Lakes Training Center in Illinois. On May 28, 1945, he was killed when two Liberator bombers collided in flight close to the naval air station at Hutchinson, Kansas. He is buried in St. Adalbert Cemetery in Rotterdam, New York.
