World War II (1939-1945)

Charles Edward Burdick was born in Schenectady, New York, on June 30, 1920. Sometime after 1930, he was living in the town of Rotterdam in Schenectady County. Before working for General Electric, he graduated from Draper High School in 1939. 

On February 2, 1942, Charles enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He underwent his military training at Lowry Field in Colorado. He was a flight officer serving with Fighter Squadron, 8th Air Corps. On October 24, 1944, while in England, Charles was killed in a plane crash. He is buried in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Colonie, New York.
