Ernest Lester Nolan was born on July 8, 1916, in Jamestown, New York. He attended schools in Jamestown, New York. After 1940, Ernest lived in Schenectady with his wife, and he worked for the General Electric and the American Locomotive Company.
Ernest enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He held the rank of Private First Class. On October 24, 1944, Ernest went missing in action in the South Pacific. He is remembered at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Philippines.
