World War II (1939-1945)

John V. Larson was born in Spring Lake, Minnesota, on July 26 1923. He moved to the city of Schenectady to attend Union College and afterwards began working for General Electric and was also an active member of Schenectady's Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church.

In December 1942, John enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private first class serving with the 324th Infantry Regiment, 44th Infantry Division. He was wounded while serving in France on December 5, 1944, and died as a result of his wounds on December 15, 1944. He is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
