World War II (1939-1945)

Waldemar Francis Domkowski was born in Schenectady, New York, on October 10, 1919. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1937.

On January 6, 1942, Waldemar enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a technical sergeant serving with the 65th Bomber Squadron, 43rd Bomber Group, Heavy. On November 26, 1943, Waldemar was killed in action when his B-24 crashed in Pom Pom Valley, New Guinea. He is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
