Korean War (1950-1953)

Leroy Albert Lamont was born in Schoharie, New York, on June 21, 1924. By 1930, he was living in the city of Schenectady. After attending nearby schools, he started working for the Army General Depot. On January 11, 1943, he enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II until he was honorably discharged.

In June 1949, Leroy re-enlisted in the United States Army. He was a private first class serving with Medical Company, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. On September 8, 1951, Leroy was killed in battle in North Korea. He is buried in Vale Cemetery in Schenectady, New York.
