World War II (1939-1945)

Edward S. Edmonds was born in Schenectady, New York, on September 18, 1925. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and graduated from St. Columba's High School. Before entering the military, he worked at the post office on Jay Street. 

On December 28, 1943, Edward enlisted in the United States Army. He completed his basic training at Camp Blanding in Florida. He was a private serving with Company E, 28th Infantry Regiment, 8th Infantry Division. On June 15, 1944, Edward was sent overseas, and on August 25, 1944, near Gouesnou, France, he was killed in action. He is buried in the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, New York.
