Edward Bernard Daly was born in Schenectady, New York, on October 6, 1921. He grew up in the city of Schenectady and was a student at St. Columba's. Before entering the military, he was employed by a cab service.
On May 8, 1942, Edward enlisted in the United States Army. He underwent his military training at Camp Shelby in Mississippi and Camp Livingston in Louisiana. He was a private first class serving with Company C, 149th Infantry Regiment, 38th Infantry Division. On December 8, 1944, Edward was killed in the Eastern Visayas in the Philippines during combat. He is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Montgomery County.
