Arthur Esposito was born in Schenectady, New York, on March 31, 1917. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was a seaman first class assigned to the USS Shea (DM-30). Arthur was killed on May 4, 1945, while on duty aboard the USS Shea, when the ship was assaulted 20 miles northeast of Zampa Misaki, Okinawa. It was hit by a Japanese Yokosuka, resulting in extensive damage. One officer and twenty four sailors were killed. He is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii.
