World War II (1939-1945)

Lawrence Bartholomew Dunford was born in New York City, New York, on September 25, 1915. After 1930, he was working on a farm while living in the village of Delanson in Schenectady County, New York. 

On April 14, 1942, Lawrence enlisted in the United States Army. He was a sergeant serving with the 68th Tank Battalion, 6th Armored Division. On October 8, 1944, Lawrence was killed in battle close to Nancy, France. He is buried in the Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
