World War II (1939-1945)

Donald MacDowell Drummond was born in Cohoes, New York, on June 2, 1916. By 1930, he was living on Campbell Avenue in the city of Schenectady. After graduating from Mont Pleasant High School in 1935, he started working for General Electric.

On December 13, 1940, Donald enlisted in the United States Army. He was a staff sergeant serving with the 324th Infantry Regiment, 44th Infantry Division. On November 23, 1944, Donald was killed in battle in France. He is buried in Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie, New York.
