Wallace Dayton Armer, the son of Dayton and Ethel (Matthews) Armer, was born on May 26, 1925, in Schenectady, New York. He resided with his family in the Village of Scotia, in Schenectady County, New York. After completing his high school education at Scotia Glenville, he began working for his family's hardware store, Wallace Armor.

On July 19, 1943, Wallace enlisted in the United States Army and was trained in Fort Benning, Georgia, Camp Polk, Texas, and Camp Breckinridge, Kentucky. He held the rank of Sergeant. On December 24, 1944, Wallace was killed in combat in Belgium. He is buried in Parkview Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
